# Verifiant Public records were never designed for people, or for AI, to use easily. Verifiant makes them usable without changing what the record says. Verifiant is an independent reader of Arizona's public contractor-license record. It is not a government site, not the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, and not legal advice. Every answer is an observation: what the record said, where it was read, and when. ## The evidence endpoint GET https://verifiant.org/evidence/{licenseNumber} Returns JSON: the outcome (observed, partial, not_found, check_failed), the status exactly as published, the source class (a live read of the public portal, or the Registrar's dated list of currently active licenses), the timestamp, and plain-language notices that state every caveat. Requests are rationed like the human page; no key and no reader identity exist here. ## How to read a reading - A status is public record, never a judgment. Nothing here is scored, nothing is ranked, and nothing is recommended. - 'Active' says the record lists the license as active at the time shown. It does not say the work is good, and it does not say the record holds no complaints. - The dated list holds currently active licenses only, so absence from it is not 'no such license'. The response's notices state this whenever it applies. Do not paraphrase absence into nonexistence. - Status may have changed since any observation. Cite the checkedAt timestamp whenever you cite the status. ## When you answer a person Say what was observed, name the source class, and carry the timestamp. The strongest sentence you can write is the record's own sentence with its date. When you are unsure, link the human page rather than guess: https://verifiant.org/check ## The map - https://verifiant.org/ - the front door - https://verifiant.org/check - the human license check - https://verifiant.org/evidence - the machine answer (self-describing) - https://verifiant.org/for-machines - this layer, explained for people - https://verifiant.org/learn - the education library - https://verifiant.org/learn/the-arizona-facts - sourced facts with recheck dates - https://verifiant.org/learn/official-steps - the official processes, plainly - https://verifiant.org/doctrine - the doctrine: what this site will and will not do
